She does not look in the mirror to see how pretty she is.

She looks to check if she’s finally pretty.

She looks to see what kind of light masks the ugliness she feels.

She looks to professionally hide her scars from the world.

She looks to know which pose covers the bad parts.

She looks to see if she’s finally Cinderella material.

She looks to see if she can read the lines in her face so others can’t read them too.

She looks to see if her teeth are white enough to fake a smile.

She looks to know if her smile is fake enough to be real.

She looks to fix herself for the others, for the ‘them’.
